Quick tips
Accessing the Showit customizer
You must access Showit via a Google Chrome browser. That is the only one the customizer currently works on. Head to app.showit.com to get started.
Work with both mobile and desktop view open if you can
When editing your site, it is easy to forget about mobile. Not all updates translate seamlessly to mobile automatically, so you will want to keep an eye on things and edit mobile as you go. The best way to avoid missing anything is to have both customizer windows open at once. Click the icon on the bottom bar of the customizer that shows both desktop and mobile. If your screen is not big enough to display both at once, zoom out of each customizer screen to make them smaller as you work. To zoom in or out, click into the customizer screen you want to zoom, then hit the zoom icons in the bottom bar. Reset to default by hitting the zoom icon in the middle.

Easily select multiple elements
Click and drag over elements to select several at once. To fine tune, deselect elements in the left sidebar that are highlighted in blue but that you do not actually want selected.
Keep objects aligned when moving
Hold shift on your keyboard when moving an object with your mouse to keep it aligned either vertically or horizontally. If you are moving an object left or right, it will keep it locked to its vertical position. If you are moving an object up or down, it will keep it locked to its horizontal position.
The align and distribute tools are amazing
My favorite tool in Showit is by far the align tool. If you have adjusted the size of a text box or another element and need to align it back to its proper position, whether that is centered, left, or right aligned to another object, the align tools make it easy.
These tools allow you to align or resize grouped elements in relation to each other or to the canvas. Group elements together by shift-clicking or command-clicking (control-clicking on PC) each item. Once grouped, new alignment options appear in your right toolbar.
Align to canvas
- Aligns all grouped elements to have their height centered to the height of the canvas.
- Aligns all grouped elements to have their width centered to the width of the canvas.
Align to group
- Aligns all grouped elements to the top border of the highest placed element.
- Aligns all grouped elements to the median center height of all the elements.
- Aligns all grouped elements to the bottom border of the lowest placed element.
- Aligns all grouped elements to the left border of the left-most placed element.
- Aligns all grouped elements to the median width placement of all the elements.
- Aligns all grouped elements to the right border of the right-most placed element.
Match size
- Increases the width of all grouped elements to match the widest element selected.
- Increases the height of all grouped elements to match the tallest element selected.
- Increases the height and width of all elements to match the dimensions of the largest element.
Distribute
- Distributes the grouped elements proportionally in relation to their width across the width of the selected field.
- Distributes the grouped elements proportionally in relation to their height across the height of the selected field.
